It’s crucial for three reasons: 1) Compliance: It’s often a legal requirement. 2) Safety: It proactively protects your customers from foodborne illness. 3) Brand Protection: It safeguards your business from recalls, lawsuits, and reputational damage. 

HACCP focuses on significant hazards that are reasonably likely to occur. A Food Safety Plan under FSMA (also known as HARPC) is broader.
